Dear Brods,
A Belated
Prosperous New Year to All !
Eight (8) years ago the 1st Saturday of the year, January 1, 2003, fell on
a Saturday and all Malls were closed for the Holiday and our Kapihan venue
was held at the residence of Brod Lito Manahan '58.
Last January
1,2011 also fell on a Saturday and again all malls were closed and
Betanette Eve Manahan offerred and Brod Lito agreed to hold our 292nd
Kapihan at the Manahan residence at VV III.
The Kapihan started promptly at 900AM and the Manahans already prepared
brewed coffee and four types of instant coffee, regular, sugar free, decaf
and capucino plus garlic bread with a dip of garlic and chives, fruit cake
and brownies.
As the Brods arrived they brought persimmons. krispy kreme doughnuts,
barquillos, hot pandesal with butter, enpanadas, peanuts.
The Brods who feasted on the "snacks" were:
1. Larry Laraya '63
2. Fil Quiaoit '63
3. Mon Ramirez '63
4. Boy de Leon '59 with Nette Bing
5. Leony Liongson '67
6. Bernie Abis '80
7. Roni Manahan '57 with Nette Meg
8. Bob Angangco '79
9. Roman Buenafe '82 with Nette Angela
10.Sarsi Yniguez '65
11.Sonny Laigo '72
12.Lito Manahan '58 with Nette Eve
13.Rey Bautista '58
14.Vic Ahorro '80 with Nette Lyn and Betanak Bianca
15.Joe Arvisu '49
Four tables were joined together and portion reminisced on ROP while the
other portion talked about a new project for the Beta Epsilon Fraternity,
the "renovation" of the Beta Epsilon Theatrum
Area. Brod Boy de Leon appears to be the "proponent" of the project and
initially envisions the site development in front of the Theatrum.
I hope Brod Boy can further explain the project in a separate e-mail.
As I see it with this new project of the frat will establish its
"footprint" starting with the Beta Epsilon Way on the east(right behind
the Library), then cross A. Roces Avenue with the Theatrum and finally on
the West the Beta Epsilon launching pad for the "Fireworks".(Behind the
Administration Bldg.)
These we can readily call Beta Epsilon Territory.
To Liito and Eve, a grateful thanks for the venue and snacks.
For the Brods who were not able to attend the Kapihan "wish you were here"
