DETAILS OF THE TREE-PLANTING PROJECT

COE Inter-Fraternity Arbor Day
Good day Brods,
In an email sent
last Sept.15, Wednesday, the residents announced Beta Epsilon's
participation in Dean Matias' initiative to do a joint project with the 4
fraternities in the College of Engineering. This project is now dubbed
"Fraternities United", and for its first project this year we are going to
have an Arbor Day this October 9.
Dean Matias set the
budget at P100,000.00 for the entire project, which will come from the
contributions of the 4 fraternities and the College of Engineering.
Beta
Epsilon P 20,000.00
EMC2 20,000.00
Epsilon
Chi 20,000.00
Tau
Alpha 20,000.00
College of
Engineering 20,000.00
P100,000.00
The contributions
of each fraternity will be collected 2 weeks before the event on October
9. The funds raised will used to pay for all the expenses of the project,
of which each fraternity are assigned to do the following tasks:
a) Food
Committee - Tau Alpha
-initial
quotation from caterers will for 200 pax
-target
budget will be 300/pax
b) Publicity
and Program - EMC2
-this will
cover tarpaulins 2 weeks before and during the event
-100 shirts
will be made for all Fraternities' residents and extra shirts sold to
interested parties
-program
for the day and tentative shirt design shall be prepared by this committee
c) Trees and
Tools - Beta Epsilon
-all trees
will be requested through DENR
-expected
price will be P15/tree which includes trees and tools needed to plant the
trees
-there will
be an allocation of 25 trees per fraternity totaling 100 trees signifying
100 years of the College of Engineering.
d) Venue and
Permits - Epsilon Chi
-tentative
venue will be suggested by this committee
-physical
arrangements will also be the responsibility of this committee
The residents have
started contacting the DENR regarding the acquisition of trees and tools
required.
In this regard, we
would like to solicit from the Board the P20,000.00 that Beta Epsilon will
contribute to the joint project.
