Leony asked the Rector of the IHE (internatonal water engg - sciences school in Holland) to autograph his book on stochastic hydrology which he bought for 50 Euros (aray!.

Note from Leony:

I attached here some photos of the UNESCO-IHP 19th Session of the IGC, including parts of the report (minutes of meeting) where I or Philippines is mentioned. I sat between Peru and Portugal, and had chance to practice-listen to Espanol speeches of other IGC members from Latin America such as Cuba, Chile, Mexico, and Peru. The lady from Portugal spoke French in the, meeting. Other non-members/observers who spoke Spanish were Panama and Uruguay, There were also scientific seminars and book launching.

As I promised to Mon, I will storm the Bastille or what is left of it, only on the weekend July 10-11, after the 5-day intergovernmental council (IGC) meeting of the UNESCO international hydrological programme (IHP) in which the entire Asia is represented by Philippines, DPR Korea, RO Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Iran and Jordan out of the 36 members of the IGC of UNESCO IHP, on a seat- sharing rotating basis among the Asians.

The lady delegate from Portugal belongs to the permanent UNESCO delegation of Portugal in Paris. Many permanent UNESCO delegates were multi-lingual - esp. in English, French and Spanish.

The Peruvian senor delegate told Leony  that he is related in fact to Pablo Picasso who was half Spaniard/half Italian-Genovese

Leony with the Mexican delegate who was his classmate in 1973-74 in U. of Arizona, Tucson. First time they met again after 40 years.. Sort of a reunion.

A Note from Leony:

The Philippine permanent UNESCO delegation (3 people) gives me rides between hotel and airport, and also bought me a toothbrush cuz the hotel doesnt give libre sepillo and shops close early before our meeting ends on any day.
